This entry is designed to help users connect their workstations to the Admin File network drive. After completing these steps, it will be possible for users to quickly access the Admin File network drive.

Step 1: Open File Explorer

Most work stations will have this application pinned to the task bar. Figure A shows what this application looks like. If it is on your task bar, open it. If not, simply press the windows key or click the start button on the bottom left of your screen and type "file explorer" and press enter.

Step 2: Map the Network Drive

To do this, right click network in the left pane of file explorer and select "Map Network Drive..." from the dropdown menu.

(Refer to Figure B)

Step 3: Select the Network Drive

After selecting "Map Network Drive..." a window will open. The first option is to assign a drive letter. This can be any letter you wish to assign it. Typically C or D is taken, but it will not let you select letter that are not available. For this example, I used Z.

The next option is to enter the location of the folder. For simplicity's sake, click the browse button at the end of the text box. A window will open. In that window, scroll down the list until you see a computer on the network that is named "ADMINFILE"

Select that entry and it will open to display the various folders that are accessible to users on the Admin File network drive. Feel free to choose any location you wish to be added to your list of drives. Once you find the folder you want access to, Click "OK"

(Refer to Figure C)

The window should close. The last step is to press "Finish"

(Refer to Figure D)

Step 4: The folder is added.

Figure E shows where to find the drive you have mapped. This drive should be accessible as if it is installed as a hard drive.
